Model United Nations Nuclear Proliferation Conference
Project Description
This conference was not the same as the first conference on the Venezuela refugee crisis. For this conference we studied nuclear weapons. Witch I believe was more interesting than the Venezuelan refugee crisis. This conference was also formatted differently. In the last conference we wrote resolutions prior to the conference for this conference we wrote resolutions during the conference. This means that instead of going into conference with an already wrote resolutions and knowing what we are going to say we made them in conference and didn't know what we were going to say until we wrote our resolution.

Project Reflection
International Diplomacy: What are your thoughts on the United Nations and our international system of problem solving? What insights do you have now about what is necessary to tackle complex global issues?
I believe the United Nations has room for a lot of growth in the way they handle issues. The United Nations has not been the greatest at solving problems. They've stopped working on solving small problems to deal with bigger problems. Smaller problems need to be taken care of so they don't become a big problem. I think the united nations need to hear ideas from people outside the United Nations with no harsh ideas. If the United Nations did this they could receive good ideas that the United Nations members agree with. This way they could solve the problems that need to be solved before they get to levels where they can't be solved.
Growth: How have you grown as a learner and delegate from our last conference to this conference (think about habits, skills, knowledge, etc.)? What did you do to grow in this way?
The last conference I did I struggled with getting things done and turning assignments in on time. This was not good because I ended up having a grade less than what I wanted it to be at the end of the semester. The second semester I came back with a mindset ready to do work and do my work well to turn it in on time. I ended up turning all the assignments in early and was ahead of most of the people in my class. I am very proud of this change I made and how I have been doing great work in Humanities since the beging of the semester. I hope to continue to do this well as the semester continues.
Knowledge: What are the skills and/or knowledge that you will carry with you from this project? How has this project changed your behaviors and/or thinking?
This project has changed my thinking about how safe the world is and how the world isn't the best at solving problems. Before this project I did not know that Donald Trump could launch nuclear warheads without consulting anyone and with a touch of one button. This will help me in the future by researching political issues to know about the correct details instead of not having any idea what I'm talking about. Before I learned about how nuclear weapons can be launched without consulting anyone I thought it was a joke and there was no way that it was true. I also thought the big red was a joke but its not there is seriously a button that can be pressed at any time to trigger a launch.
Refinement: If you were going to do this again, or if you had a time machine and could go back to the start of this semester, what would you do differently? How would this change impact your learning and the project?
If I got the chance to do this project again I would go back and do a little more research and then make more comments during the conference. Doing more research would make me more prepared for the conference. If I did this I would learn my allies and figure out what brazils ideas are on nuclear proliferation if they have any. During the conference I would make more comments so I could clarify the things that people said that I do not understand. In the last conference this happened but there were not enough comments for me to make one. If I made more comments it would have helped my grade not that my grade was bad it just could have been better.

Adolescence Project
Project Description
In the beginning of this project we studied what adolescent is and how it works. In the second part of this project we studied different stages of how adolescence develop and what incorrectly developing can do to them. After this we wrote a list of interview questions and chose a person over the age of 30 to ask these questions to. After asking these questions to someone we took a photograph of the person we interviewed to represent there adolescence. At multiple points in this project we had a Socratic seminar after reading a book or piece of a book.
